Europe for the First Time!
Dinusha and I have never been to Europe. So we decided to take four weeks off from our busy schedules to cover London, Paris, Barcelona, Italy (Rome, Florence, Venice) and Germany (Munich and Berlin). Here are some of the highlights from the trip.
London in 3 Days
After more than a day of bussing, waiting, flying, transferring, and flying some more, we arrived in London. The only positive thing about the flight was the A380s. Most comfortable and quietest ride ever!
Coming from Australia, one of the most fascinating things in Europe is the architecture. It's a wonderful experience to take a walk down the streets and enjoy the sights of beautifully constructed buildings, each with its own little twist to the design. London was all about the new and the old laying side by side, existing in harmony.
The open top tourist buses are the best way to see the city. You can hop on and off at any stop to explore further...
Changing of the Guards
As I found out by our awesome tour guide, who was potentially Hagrid's brother, "changing of the guards" is the "changing of the regiment" guarding the palace. People gather in large numbers to see this daily ritual. There's horses, drums and marching to be enjoyed for nearly an hour.
